As a business owner, you’re are probably familiar with creating an invoice and the details that go into it. Although no matter how prepared you are it is inevitable that a few customers will fail to settle their invoices on time. You may feel the need to be direct and remind them of their late payment or the matter may be as dire as going to court. How do you strike a balance?

It is important that as an entrepreneur in Dubai, you know the policies that need to be followed when doing business. Being paid on time for transactions made as a business is crucial to the cash flow of an organization. We need to be aware of the law of UAE when it comes to late payments or when it is necessary to implement fines if the payments are long overdue.

Join us at this month’s Business over Breakfast meeting as we discuss the best strategies in dealing with late payments moreover the best practices to prevent them.

We are very pleased to welcome, Mrs. Taghrid Al Sharif and Mrs. Fatmah Al Rifai from the Legal Services Department – Dubai Chamber will be speaking about ‘Managing Non-Payment through Mediation’.

Also, our guest speaker is  Mrs. Rita Al Semaani Jansen from international law firm Ince & Co. Rita is a Partner at Ince & Co. and advises on all aspects of UAE commercial laws including free zones, regulatory work. She also has extensive experience in advising on projects and real estate developments, construction dispute resolution and commercial litigation, attachment of assets, misappropriation of funds and fatality incidents.

Objective

The Business over Breakfast sessions aim to bring together small medium enterprises to discuss and learn more about relevant topics from each other and from guest speakers. Newcomers to the UAE also have the opportunity to meet established entrepreneurs and profit from their knowledge and experience.

We have limited the number of guests to 20 to enable good dialogues and interactive sessions.

A registration fee of AED 65 for NBC members will be collected at the venue to cover the cost of breakfast. For Non-members AED 100 payment in advance by bank transfer.
