Our world is changing at a rate that never has been experienced in human history. The driver is exponential growth of computation power. This allows us to digitize everything you can think of. What has been digitized, produces data…. massive amounts of data. Analysis of these data provides us (new) insights that we simply couldn’t do that lang ago.
We easily connect the “smart” to this phenomenon. Maybe because it has something magical. Getting nice graphics, based on a bunch of data, by just pressing a button: magic!
But is that smart? If the analysis lead to new insights, are the systems autonomously going to look for different things, or will take actions? Try to apply this to “smart cities”, what does that mean? What actually is needed to become really smart?
Making a city more efficient, convenient, safer, easier to monitor and control sounds nice But how do we get there, what is happening in Dubai and how can you jump in? This event will boost your data on ‘Smart’ and sharpen your sensors on how to run with it!
