Construction business is still booming in the UAE. But with the continuously low oil prices and the tendency towards the development of renewable energy sources, the UAE is actively looking to diversify its economy. The long-term vision of the UAE is to develop into a more knowledge driven economy with less dependency on lower cost labour. For the construction industry, this development means the large-scale introduction of robotics and digitalization. Dubai intends to be the frontrunner: In 2025, based on Dubai Municipality’s regulations, every new building in Dubai will be 25% 3D printed.
Like Dubai, the Netherlands is also a pioneering on 3D printing. Prof Theo Salet of Technical University Eindhoven, is a world-renowned expert and professor in the field of 3D concrete printing. Prof Salet is the author of many of the first 3D printed pilot projects, like the first printed bridge in the Netherlands, the first 3D concrete printed in object the UAE and the DEWA research building.
Prof Salet is visiting Dubai and has made time available in his busy schedule to inform us on the latest developments in 3D concrete printing. Please join us in this journey of Dutch innovation. You will be surprised of the opportunities of this new possible game changer in the construction industry.
The Business over Breakfast session aim to bring together small medium enterprises to discuss and learn more about relevant topics from each other and from guest speakers. Newcomers to the U.A.E also have the opportunity to meet established entrepreneurs and profit from their knowledge and experience.
This Business over Breakfast will be held on Wednesday 27 September from 8.00-9.30am at ‘Mazina’ restaurant, ‘The Address Dubai Marina’, Dubai. We have limited the number of guests to 20 to enable good dialogues and interactive sessions. A registration fee of AED 60 for NBC members (AED 120 for non-members) will be collected at the venue to cover the cost of breakfast. Cancellation policy: maximum 24 hours before the event.
